Datograph because it's produced by one of my fave manufacturers and that model itself has everything you would need and may be even unnecessary functions packed into the the movement
Frankly, any Datograph would get my vote against any Patek Philippe

5370 is just awesome. Definitely one of the best Patek's in a while and I know quite a few collectors looking to acquire it. If any watch would give me pause towards the 5370 it would be that new Lange, which is just monster watch. You get a lot more bang for your buck and from what I've heard the movement is stellar. The dial too is outstanding. But at the end I think the 5370 takes the cake. Classic Patek movement, enamel dial, breuget numerals, tachymeter...just can't beat it. Lange would be a close second.

There is a member here who had 5370p and stated it did not wear well on wrist--see if he pipes in.

Personally with 100 pieces and complications, I'd take Lange all day.

Are you buying either one? That is a good dilemma to have for sure.

As far as I can say after having the 5370 a few minutes on my wrist, I have to say it sits very well. Not as good as the 5950, due to its thickness of 13.56 mm but good enough for me!

It's not a dilemma as the decision has already been made....

5370 is an awesome piece. I found the 5170 a little too bland, and that Lange a bit too fussy and squashed around the subdials. Reverse them and the Lange.

5370 gets my vote. The back of the Dato Perp Tourb is out of this world but the dial for me is way too busy. Both out of my budget anyways

5370 for me no doubt. I like a watch I can wind and throw on the wrist and be out the door. I see no need for a PC or a tourb as cool as they are. It helps that that 5370 is stunningly beautiful as well.

And you need split seconds chrono...just if we're being honest

Tourb is something used everyday. Split seconds, probably never.

I should have elaborated. I mean to say a split seconds chrono is easier to live with. No need to go through an elaborate process to set it when you feel the urge to wear it. Often when I see members positing wrist shots of thier PCs, they don't have the calendar set because it's a royal pain in the ace. That would bother me.

I disagree about a tourb being more useful than a split. It's a relic of the days of pocket watches. The equivalent of the tailbone. Some think it adds visual appeal but in this dial it cannot be viewed from the front anyhow.

I'll concede both Toub and Split are not needed :-) However, a date function is handy...and only one has that

I will say Lange movement can make me speechless when looking at it...

Assuming you don't let the ALS sit for an extended period of time, setting is quite easy as the single button advances the entire perpetual calendar. Pretty impressive.

The Dato Perpetual Tourbiliion is definitely the big watch ALS introduced this year at SIHH. However without actually seeing the watch and trying it on the wrist, it is really difficult to compare it with the 5370.

The 5370 on the other hand is a fine watch and should be available at Patek Salons/ADs with the right connections. I have to agree with dom007 that the 5370 sits quite nicely on the wrist and it does not feel too large or thick. However as el2225 mentioned, the 5204 is definitely competing with the 5370 and it would be a tough choice deciding between the two.

I know OP has not asked about the 5204, but I lean towards the 5204 (or even the older 5004) slightly more than the 5370. But if OP decided on the 5370, a big congratulations is in order!

ALS. Innovative design - with a dash of color, nonetheless - that doesn't compromise classic aesthetics. And a tourbillon to boot. Very, very, very tough choice - one of the closest polls I've seen in awhile.

I'm picking the Lange. It's amazing how they can fit a large tourbillon in that movement. I still think that is one of Patek's best watches though.
