You are the victim Andy, these threads go off track sometimes. Best of luck, claim and use all avenues of appeal. This happened to me once on a return repair after sale. Hope all goes well cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The shipping weight will be based on volumetric weight calculated from the dimensions of the box. This is usually heavier than the weight of the watch and its contents. FedEX will have no idea if there are contents or not within.
File a credit card chargeback, this is the best resolution if Paypal doesn't work. |

Another scumbag Canadian scammer beware!!
The intent of my questions is not to make you feel like you're being interrogated. I'm genuinely curious to see how fedex handles this (I use them also but through parcel pro). I don't think this thread has gone off track; on the contrary, we are simply replying to info you posted.
It is unfortunate that you are the victim, but I honestly still don't understand how/why it could be the duty of fedex to make you whole (or partly so) if they delivered to you what shipper paid to send (being an empty box, as I understand it). Wouldn't that then make them the victim, when they had no part in the deal itself? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would have to have him sign off from making a claim and that wont happen Iam caling the Fedex rep today to explain the whole situation and will let you guys know, its possible the seller has already started a claim on his side, so when i tell FEDX the truth they will revoke it I hope

I'm still hoping and betting that your CC company will come through for you, leaving PayPal to deal with its scammer client. I'm still dumbfounded that they denied your claim out of hand due to the fact that you made 2 partial payments--for the same item. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh man. I've seen some of your watch postings. You've always come across as a sincere, straight shooter and have the history to confirm my impressions. Stories like this make my skin crawl; congratulations on the 5k and God willing, the rest soon enough. Best incoming ever.

Congrats, happy to hear you CC came through.
I can add for future reference that FedEx photographs, dimensionally scans (with lasers), and weighs every package that comes through their system. So they will be able to tell the exact condition, size, and weight of any package entered into their network. |

that sucks andy.
did you check which fedex or drop off location the scammer used? ask for the video of that day via the local OPP and offer a public reward via CL and Kijiji for the general area. cut and paste the original ad and all you've posted here on it. also, study the ad text pattern and keywords and see if they try to resell it --- if they ever even had it. good luck! |

👍Great news you were made whole.
But not exactly a perfect resolution. Am I correct in saying that the bad guy got off with $10,000? And I assume your credit card company charged back PayPal and they took the loss? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk while driving down the interstate at 75 mph
