speedmaster professional moonphase:3576.50.00

Is there any interest in this model? http://www.omegawatches.com/index.ph...000&no_cache=1 Its a professional, manual wind, sapphire sandwich with moonphase and date. I know its not the "watch that went to the moon," but in reality not even though sapphire sandwich went up. I really would like a watch with date, so I think the moonphase and date are nice touches considering its a "moon watch." I also like its a 42mm alike the original and I know Omega makes a 40mm with date only. So here is my dilemma, considering that the 3576.50.00 and 3573.50.00 are not that much different in price, which one would you get? I think I really like the moonphase? From a collector's point of view, do you think this a bad move? How about the 3573.50.00? or the original 3570.50.00? Thanks for all your help.

I think that if you are a colllector you might get them all..

If you just want a watch to wear; and you like the history of the Omega Speedmaster, then get the one that you want to wear all the time.. and if a date is important to you, you should get that..

Personally, I don't think that there is significant investment potential in any of the newer Speedys to make it a clear-cut decision based on collectibility.

For purists the moon phase might seem a bit over-the-top, but they used to say that about the Patek moon-phase watches too..

I know most of you who respond already own a speedy, but if you had to buy your only speedy professional, would you get the original or sapphire sandwich or moon phase? Thanks again. I know in the end, it only matters what I like and I am ultimately going to have to decide by putting them on my wrist.

I've got a 3572.50, hesalite with a sapphire display back. I think it is the best of both worlds. Discontinued now. If I had to buy new I would go for a 3570.50. I like the look of the original and I really don't need the date or a moon-phase. I would also consider a Patch.......but I'm not sure about the Hypocampus logo.

I did it a bit different.
I bought the flight qualified Pro, which has the hesalite front and SS engraved back AND the OEM saphire back.
So now I have both and I can change as desired.

If I was going to get one it would be the Patch........that touch of red and gold really makes the watch.
