Question about rubber bracelet fit on 5167

I'm really considering getting a 5167. Love the look of this watch. Went down to my local AD and tried on a similar watch (5164) as they didn't have a 5167 in stock. My question is this: How does this rubber strap fit/feel on a smallish wrist
( Maybe 7 inches or so- I take 2 links out of a current Rolex Oyster). I'm concerned about the top part where it comes off the watch. It seemed to bow out wider than my wrist but maybe this was due to the way I had it on and because it was new. It comes with a pretty large bracelet and I had it clasped.
Will it form fit better once cut to my specs? Does it loosen up or mold more to the wrist once it's cut and worn? Maybe a silly question but I would love to hear peoples experiences.

Once you carefully cut the stock rubber strap so the deployant clasp is center it is comfortable. Just remember if your wrist is cold it will expand when hot so have it a bit loose-fitting.... or get your body/wrist hot and then size to fit. The 5167 was my daily for years, yet recently changed to a new Rolex Sub no-date due to moving to FL where I plan to swim, dive, etc. plus their adjustable clasp is great for diving suits and during travels to cold/hot climates.

The contact points are mostly the clasp and the watch head. Every other part of the strap "floats" over your wrist in the most incredibly comfortable way possible.

Great choice. The Aquanauts are some of the most comfortable I have ever worn.

Now this is what I like about this reference. Such a cool watch but also very understated. A PP that you can even wear to the gym!

It's going to fit you better than perfect...probably the most comfortable watch you'll ever wear.

I would also agree.... I've had mine a little over a week. Had a quick biz trip to SoCal and it super comfy cruising thru the airports. Worked great from boardroom meetings to downing margaritas in Newport Beach, followed by more meetings to dinner in Downtown Disney to coming home to a fresh dusting of snow at my house in Tahoe. 5167.... My perfect daily watch!

I have a 7 and 1/4 inch wrist and recently purchased a 5164. My authorized dealer recommended sizing the band so that it would be a little loose. This was a great recommendation and I would highly recommend it to anyone with this type of band.

Now, when I hold my arm up in the air and then down toward the ground, the watch slides back and forth about one inch. I probably would not like this amount of movement on a traditional leather strap with a buckle, but this is perfect for the 5164, because the clasp on the wrist prevents rotation of the watch around the wrist. The loose band allows for wrist expansion in warmer weather and avoids the feeling of retained sweat under the band when I exercise. Any sweat under the band dries rapidly with the loose band, and since the band is rubber, no moisture is retained in the band, as it would with a leather strap. This is really a great watch for warm climates! It is truly the most comfortable watch I own.

Congrats on a great choice! There may be one out there, but I've yet to wear a more comfortable watch.

Congratulations on a fabulous PP! Every time I review this PP Forum, I'm compelled to put another $50 into my grail savings account... probably a 5164.

Wear it in good health! Thanks for enabling.
