Blue!

If you decide silver then jump to the diamond dial. Its subtle but STUNNING!

I'll go with blue but only because it's easier to read the dial.

Blue! Had two watches with a silver face sold both within the last 10 years. Never held my attention.

I'm going to say silver for the following reason:

In light of the slightly modified DJ41 that came out this year at Basel which has slimmer stick hour markers (see Rolex website), the wider stick hour markers on the current DJII now appear to me somewhat invasive. I really like the proportion of the new DJ41 stick dial. So with the silver dial DJII, the wider stick('batons') markers don't seem so 'oversized' on the dial.
Just my opinion as I'm 100% certain some will feel the exact opposite: love the wider markers and hate the new ones :)

Now as to the hue/variations of the blue dial, no question that it stands close to the best (PP and AP).

I know it's not a DJ II, but here's a shot of my silver faced 36mm DJ. I was also plagued by the decision of blue vs silver and I chose the silver. It's a classic color that matches any color attire.

Silver. Don't care for the lighter shade of blue when the light hits it. Pictures look mostly dark/navy blue...which I love, but when I was trying it on at the AD most of the dial was the lighter shade of blue as the light reflected off the dial.

i had a white DJ2 fluted bezel. sold it years ago. if i was buying one again today, i'd get the Blue. Blue is very nice and unique, looks good in jeans and with a suit.
