Just so you know guys I posted earlier letting you know that I already got the Batman.

Last night my AD special ordered it and told me it will take few weeks to get it in directly from Rolex.

Today surprisingly I got a call from the same AD but a different location saying that they just received one, again directly from Rolex which is brand new untouched fresh from the press and telling me that I will get that watch and don't have to wait for the one that was special ordered since I already paid in full.

This really makes me very happy but at the same time nervous to wait until tomorrow to find out if they really meant it. They told me they will put it away until the two store managers deal with it.

Yes, this is the Moonwatch (cal. 1861): manual winding, acrylic crystal, and solid case back. And there is another one also called "Moonwatch" (cal. 1863, a little adjustment from cal. 1861): manual winding, sapphire crystal, and transparent case back.

If it's a 116520 Daytona, I'd definitely get the BLNR. If it's the 116500 Daytona, tough choice but I'd still choose the BLNR. The BLNR is my favorite SS watch.

I think I will go with the 1863 and I really like the see thru back case. This is a lovely watch to have in ones collection.

Both are winner watches all the way. You should try them and see what suits you best. They're the best watches out there. But you should remember that the Daytona is very scarce and maybe this is the last time you will have the opportunity to find one.

Need Help Choosing between New SS Daytona or GMT Batman

Congrats on the BLNR!

Saw your thread late but I was gonna suggest BLNR and speedy. Seems like you already got there on your own!

BTW if you like the hesalite crystal on the speedy but still want the sapphire caseback.... look for the 3572.50 (discontinued). It still has the beautiful 1863 (rhodium finished movement) like the new sapphire sandwich speedies but instead of a sapphire crystal up front it has the coveted hesalite crystal.

By the time I went back to the AD to buy the Daytona it was already sold and that made my BLNR decision even easier. I am very happy again that I got the BLNR and as for the Daytona I put myself on the list and will wait for the new one to be available for purchase.

I am still waiting for my BLNR to come in the mail but what my AD surprised me today with was with a brand spanking new watch winder by Wolf, this was thrown in the deal as a bonus to the purchase of the watch.
At least I got something while still waiting.

BLNR is more versatile and wears bigger. The Daytona is definitely a bit more dressy but wears too small to me to be an only watch.

If you can get the new ceramic Daytona, then definitely get that, if not get the BLNR now with a view to getting the Daytona ceramic in due course.

I would get the BLNR and pocket the savings for the next piece.

Congrats. I would find it hard to choose between the Dayto and BLNR as both are amazing watches.
