Ha! Not soon enough.LOL! I've heard everything from August to September to October to 2009.
I'm guessing in the fall in some places (if only I knew where). |

Earliest rumor I have heard is September - consensus seems to be sometime in December.

Yes AD's are now telling me Nov-Dec...
Either some production problems, due to it being a totally new model. Or they want to push out other models like the RG Daytona coming out now for people to buy first and then phase in the new Deep Sea later.. |

It's not just Rolex but I find it bogus that Basel displays mock-ups and not real production watches and then 6-8 months pass before you can buy the darn thing.
I have been told only Zenith has their watches available for sale immediately after the Basel show. That's a brand on the move too. |

My AD says Dec for the DSSD as well. I think they are trying to be conservative - She knows I'll go in there every day.... :)
Her rep definitely said that it would not go past the new year.

It's already out in the Philippines so can't be a production problem.

A moderator to WatchProSite forum listed the DSSD's started shipping last week. I am first on my list at my local AD.... Have been since the first webshot back in May from Basil. My AD does not get anymore information than we do about the time scale. He knows he will get 2 by December (all going well). The mailman stops by my business first... and he tells me daily if my AD has a watch arriving :} Cheers.

Based on one unconfirmed thread from another site... I will believe it when a TRF member posts pix. I remain skeptical that one is on the street.

I hate to admit it (no, not really) but I'm digging the new DS more & more. From those pics, the writing is not as bad as I thought & I love the size. People will moan until the end of time anything bigger than 40mm is TOO big...but I think this new version at 43mm is going to be absolutely perfect for a lot of people like me that were looking for something a little bigger from Rolex.
And don't even get me started on that new clasp...thank you Rolex for FINALLY installing a clasp that is on par w/ the rest of the watch!!! |

Exactly, but put the same SDDS on a person with 7" or greater wrists then it would look balanced, looks like he carries a 5" wrist. He'll probably be losing 2 links on his new watch before it will fit him properly.
Is it me or does it look like the watch is bigger than his hand. The watch looks out of proportion to his wrist size. |

Have to agree there, Jim. I saw it this morning (see my other thread), and found the watch way too thick as compared with the bracelet.
