The discontinued current configured SD4000 was confirmed from several ADs and Reps weeks ago. The question was what the new Sea Dweller would be, and there you have it: 43mm with a cyclops...

I'm surprised they did it in 43mm, maybe something a little bigger than 40mm, like 41 or 42

Terrible move for a classic watch. I can see there being a price increase on the SD4ks now....I HATE THE CYCLOPS on the sea dweller.

It's probably a smart move insofar is it will sell well. With Omega raising prices to unrealistic levels it makes spending the money on a Rolex seem like a better buy than before. I think many shoppers that previously looked to Omega as a more affordable luxury option, if there is such a thing, will spend the extra money on a Rolex. With that, I think a lot of buyers probably want a larger watch than Rolex is known for and that they want it in stainless steel. This is a model that will attract planet ocean wearers who probably don't care whether or not the watch is true to its roots.
As for me, my sd4k is pure perfection and I kind of like knowing I have one of the shortest run Rolex models in recent history. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The price of SD4k has stuck for 3 years. I guess the only way for Rolex to increase the price is to make some significant changes. So they did it.

I love wearing my SD4k everyday since I got it in fall '14... I didn't expect to see it discontinued though so it kinda makes me wish I kept it in better shape!

SD4K is definitely on my radar. Might even add a cyclops since Rolex said it was ok.

i agree...the sd4000 was an alternative to those who did not like the sub ceramic. now we have only one choice if we want a diving watch without the Cyclop: Sub No date Ceramic.

Meaning its ok cos they've added one to the SD43. They will not add a cyclops onto your SD4K. It would be sacrilege to do so anyway.

There's Omega's, Seiko's and Invicta's, and so on, and so on to choose from. Lots without a Cyclops out there |

Anyone interested in a SD 4000 now discontinued , the AD in Vestal and Dewitt both had one in stock as of 4.14.17.
