Hard time deciding

This will be my first AP I am buying second hand. I honestly can't decide which one I prefer. I am looking at Royal Oak offshore 25940SK or Royal Oak diver 15703ST. The diver is 2013 and the other is 2010 no real difference in price. For those that own or did own would be good to hear your opinion on both models and which you may think may be better for first AP. I don't really have any intention on adding another AP in the future, thanks.

With AP I like to always get the newest I can afford. Also I prefer the Rubber clad in RG. 15703 is a great watch and the one I would choose. They don't make divers with the sweet pantograph dial anymore

For me, the original diver. Prefer the glossy dial.

I prefer the Rubberclad! Love the Diver too but the Rubberclad has a more interesting dial, imho

I've owned a Diver and a rose gold rubberclad. The Diver is a classic AP and quite timeless whereas the rubberclad, although still a classic AP is in danger of looking a little dated.

The Diver bezel will remain relatively scratch free if you're careful with it whereas no matter how careful you are with the rubberclad the bezel will go shiny. I really look after my watches and I only wore the rubberclad 3-4 times per week and the bezel was really shiny after 3 years. I changed my bezel after 3 years and the watch looked great again but the replacement bezel is £500 but AP also service the watch when they change it so in reality the new bezel costs £1200.

I'm wanting to get another Diver but I would not get another rubberclad even though it's a great watch.

If it's a black dial RC, that.

Great advice, thank you. Exactly what I was looking for some info on actually owning the watch. I am siding towards the diver I think although it does seem to change when I try each one on. I think the diver seems more suited to me, think I will have new incoming in the next week I was actually planning on getting whichever one I decide on a service as they have no service history. What do you think a service would cost on these pieces assuming nothing is wrong? My thinking is maybe it's worth getting a newer diver say 2016/17 which means I don't need to send in for service.

Diver since you don't plan on getting another AP in the future. Both watches are great, but the rubber clad IMHO is an "in addition to" watch while the diver is more of an all rounder if its the only AP example you plan on.

Quite a lot of people have the diver... people with multiple AP's as well as people who only have one. I would suspect the rubberclad isn't as versatile in that regard as most people who own one probably also have other AP's too.

Black dial is nicer than the white for me but I'd still go Diver.
