Forgive my ignorance, but what is going on with those center links? I don't believe I've ever seen any like them.

It's called a bark finish. Rolex stopped offering that a few years ago. One of the experts here can give you a more accurate date.

Bark is a very apt description. I'm not much on bling, but the texture of the links looks pretty cool.

Barked centerlinks are a godsend IMO.. I own a TT serti sub with PCLs and its a scratch magnet..
