If it says 2000ft/200m you are in trouble.

Because 200 meters is not equal to 2,000 feet.

Because 2000 ft is not 200 meters.

Which may explain just why it's "so rare".

Only because 200 m and 2000 ft are very different depths.

I understand however this is a vintage green dot anchor. Did I loose the other green dot that would read 610? or ???

According to this link, it appears that the green should be on both sides.

very strange as this looks like a vintage rolex anchor and the green dot reads 2000...did the original 2000ft/610m green dot anchor have 200ft stamped under the green dot?

Why would it?
Does that even remotely make sense?
2000 ft is not 200m.
Seems yours is rare as either an inexplicable error or the more likely a fake.

Not sure. The only 2,000 ft anchor on that website I linked is the Sea-Dweller one, but that only has 610 and 2,000, no 200.

It looks like the green Sea Dweller dot is glued on a Submariner anchor from the same time. I don't know if Rolex done
it that way at that time or someone have try to raise the value.

Hey Blueface, Just looking for assistance so please keep it friendly. Im just trying to determine what this anchor is? It did not make sense to me either and it does not appear to be a fake. I cant find anything on this anchor but if you look close at the pics it has vintage markings I believe

That was my guess.
A modification using the green dot from another.

Well, do you have a watch that it came with? How did you get this particular anchor?

I got the anchor from a box of extremely valuable old coins from my neighbors estate. He owned a 9 million dollar home and 17 cars....I live in Rolling hills Ca which is a rather expensive place to own a home here in southern california. I really do not believe this is a fake

I also purchased many things from this estate as the former owner was an avid collector of fine goods. Everything we purchased was authentic so I dont have reason to believe this was a fake of any kind. Also it would seem strange for someone to have an extra 2000ft green dot to glue on an old anchor

look at the pics and confirm this is a vintage anchor by the way it is stamped. also there is more space from the eyehole to the word oyster...basically the gap is larger on the older anchors from what I have seen

OP, don't mean to insult but it's frankly becoming comical.
Rolex would have never made this anchor.
2000ft would not say 200m on the other side.
So......regardless of who the prior owner was and how much affluence is in the area, either you either have an anomaly with a very rare factory mistake or joke on the part of a Rolex employee or you have a fake.
If you feel strongly that it is not the latter may I suggest the obvious to reach out to Rolex and inquire with them.

It looks like a real anchor and someone has stamped the 2000 on it using wax or something similar.

Blueface you may be right. Im just stating the facts and my guess is a guy that was an executive at paramount would not have time to make a fake anchor when he had the means to own many rolex watches. perhaps avoid this thread moving forward as it seems its upsetting you. Im here to learn. I understand this is very strange....that being said is it possible that rolex glued the 610m green dot to a regular 200m anchor...Im just trying to figure out what this is and if its possible this anchor is just missing its green dot on the other side?

Why don't you rip the 2000m green dot off, and see what's underneath?
