When I picked up my watch, the associate told me that I should check the accuracy of the watch over the first two weeks. If anything was wrong with the movement, it would be clear within 14 days. Is this correct info?

With regards to the purchase, I ended up getting it from Brinkhaus in Vancouver. For the Vancouverites: has anybody shopped at Palladio? What's the experience there been like?

The break-in period for a brand new watch is usually 6~8 weeks. Give it time and in the meantime just enjoy the hell out of it!!

5) In the second to last picture, the link the connects the rest of the bracelet to the clasp looks kind of wrinky dinky? Does anybody else have the same feeling?

1. A turn of the crown is just a normal way you would wind the crown in a clockwise manner. About 40 turns should suffice to give you at least 47 hours of Power Reserve.

2. When you shake that watch near your ear, the rattling sound is that of the bracelet and the sleeves of the pins.....NOT the watch!!

3. If the watch is stopped, FIRST start it up with a gentle "after dinner brandy like 'swirl' " to set the movement in motion. Then unscrew the crown and give it about 40 turns.

4. For cleaning, all you need is ordinary bath soap, running water and a soft toothbrush.....that's right the kind you brush your teeth with!!
Just wet the watch (make sure the crown is well screwed in), wet the bristles of the brush, dab it in the soap and lightly brush the watch all over with the toothbrush and then rinse under the running water. After that, dry off with a soft towel and for that final gleam, use any lint-free cloth, preferably the kind you would get from any Optician which they use to clean eyeglass lenses.

5. Rolex don't exactly have the reputation for making the most glamourised of bracelets, especially the older models (which you have); but, in all fairness, they have more than served the purpose and are made from the same 904L steel as the watch.....and are immensely strong.

Enjoy that watch!! It's a toughie and will outlive you so that you can some day pass it on to your next of kin and loved ones.

JJ --- He doesn't have an "older model". He has a M series '08. My M series LV doesn't have that rinky-dink 1/2 link. I have a 1/2 link, but it is different looking (still not great looking, but not like yours).
