Myself like both but prefer a manual wind somehow winding a watch each day make you part of it.

Honestly it has more to do with what do you prefer? Do you need a date function? If so then you need to get an auto. I have found that I don't even need a seconds function so my two BASE 112 and 210 manual winds work great for me. I actually wind both watches every morning and love doing it, like Padi says, you feel a bit more "involved" or closer to your watch.
I also have a 162 which is an auto, so neither is better or worse, just different. If you could please, give a little more detail in what you are looking for in a watch or more specifically, a Pannie.

For me, I prefer the historical line. But there are some contemporary ones I like too. How's that for a fence ride?

i prefer the manual wind ones for the reasons outlined above .. can you get them with seconds functions? or is that only on the autos??
