If you pretend to be buying it for your wife but want her opinion, take her to the AD have her pick the one she likes (thinking its for your wife) then leave the AD and buy it from your trusted seller.

I voted for black as the brand name stands out (think about the small 31mm size).

A few month ago I gave one of my loyal employees a GMT Tag Heuer for his 10th anniversary and he was very happy. Great move from a boss and your tread made me smile. Keep it up man!

Does she know her watch is a fake too? You may open up Pandora's box if she believes it's real.

Thanks man. I'm glad to see I'm not alone. The right employee can make you a ton of money and save you a ton of stress. Rewarding said employee is the right thing to do and makes complete sense in the long run.

She is well aware that her off brand, black dial watch is less than authentic. She jokes about it and claims she only bought it to fool her in laws.

I really like this idea ... Although, I'm mostly a fluted bezel
fan on the DJ.... or Diamond bezel which isn't the case here ...
which ever you or her choose it's a very kind and generous act ...
Wish you both the best !!!

Since it'll most likely be her only watch she'll want to wear I'd go black.. it's pops in that size and guess with anything vs the blue which is stunning!

The DateJust 41 with a blue dial looks awesome but any of the three are smashing!

If your company colors has blue than get the blue one. I would make sure you can exchange for another color if your assistant doesn't like the color.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a little weird? I wouldn't want someone buying my wife a watch. Bonus check, yes.

But I'd go with white, then black, silver, blue.

I would avoid the blue dial as that’s one of the more popular dial copies on men’s DJ. White is the safe bet. I would include a gift receipt.

What a great gift and gesture OP.

Almost all the replies are men and most men like black and blue. I ask my wife and she said "white no doubt". Well, I choose white too.

Hi

Are you sure on the size?

Women are now commonly wearing larger watches such as the 36mm Datejust.

Exactly, I can only remember the discussion I had with my girl when I thought she’d love a red grape dial. Some women it seems are very different from us in how they wear watches. They won’t wear even the best watch if it doesn’t fit their outfit for the day. You maw want to consider that and steer towards the very versatile.

It sounds like this will be her only Rolex (or only luxury watch, for that matter), so as much as I love blue and white dials, my vote is for black.

Find out if she has a "signature" color. She may have a white and black watch now because that's all she could find, or they were gifts, but she may prefer red or green... look at what accessories she chooses, color of flowers that she prefers, ask some of her coworkers if you can.

That's my suggestion. My wife wants a purple one, which goes with NOTHING but it's her color, so that's what she wants. Logic doesn't always apply.
