This tonight.

Malbec from Argentina brought to California by the Wagner(Caymus) family and made in Cali.

Enjoyed with reverse sear bone in ribeye.

Perfect weekend!

I wish I could savor one of these nectars of the Gods. I can only imagine the flavors and structure it would release after almost 60 years.
Picked these empties up at an estate sale. Original European late 1950s 75cl bottles. Varying degrees of label condition. Only one still has the neck cap.
Great man cave or office decoration. $20 each plus shipping. PM me.

Tonight's Delight!
Very enjoyable Chardonnay...

DAOU Vineyards Paso Robles Chardonnay 2014

Winemaker Notes

A vibrant and tantalizing nose offers aromas of citrus peel, white peach, nectarine, and lemon meringue pie. Floral and spicy with notes of honeysuckle, star jasmine, nutmeg, and subtle ginger nuances. Lush and smooth on the palate, flavors of pineapple, Asian pear and Crenshaw melon evolve delicately, filling the mouth with tropical essences. Persistent finish leaves lingering spiced pear, melon, and papaya.

After an hour or so of air, this '98 Martha's Vineyard was singing and very good to the last drop.....

Very nice! I know the Daou brothers very well. My sister is the vineyard manager there among other vineyards. We also sell them the Grenache from our vineyard. Last year my sister received a doubloon of their 2007 Cab Reserve as a thank you gift. That bottle is massive! I think its the equivalent of 8 bottles.

Tonight, my wife and I celebrate 15 years of a truly fantastic marriage. I have come to realize that the secret of a happy marriage is finding the right person ..... and good wine.

Just pulled this one out of the basement.
I’m thinking that I’ll pour it into the chili that I’m making, to dress it up a bit.....

Me too, one of my faves. Had a 1997 last year at the hospital after the birth of my second daughter it was remarkable.

Clark if you like Heitz check out Midsummer Cellars...Rollie Heitz left Heitz Cellars and started his own ...he has some really great wine as well. Met him in Napa last go around and he opened up some amazing bottles. He took a clone of Martha's before he left ...you didn't hear that from me though !

Never had the Rhys, though I've red good things, curious why you opened the Pahlmeyer so early? I but it was stunning though!

The Rhys was very very good. Definitely recommend.

Well — honestly - on the Pahlmeyer - I hadn’t had it since a tasting a year ago (when I bought some) — and when I was looking through the cellar it got my attention to just try one of with some friends.

Needs at least 5 more before opening another. It was BIG — delicious and structured but still green. Took quite a while to open up.
