Can a Royal Oak & Daytona work together?
I've got a white-face 116520 but after seeing a RO 15400 in the flesh over the weekend I've fallen madly in love.
My dilemma is, I don't often wear shirts (once a month-ish) and that's the only time I wear the Daytona, but the RO doesn't look like it's designed to be worn with jeans and a t-shirt! I fear I'd end up with 2 watches that would compete for the same position. |

I'm my opinion I think the Audemars Piguet is quite versatile. I've seen them in person with casual wear (and on tv, on various celebrities) and it looks amazing!!!! Go for it, as it seems this is what you want. It's a step up in many ways, so much prestige

I think the ROO is designed to be worn with t-shirts, and not with suits personally.

The Daytona was a gift from my family so I'm not really in a position to sell it. The quality on the RO is a different level though...The bracelet is amazing.

I wish I could go shirtless 29-30 days out of the month... Maybe I should apply at Abercrombie & Fitch. Is that still a place?
Not exactly sure what niche you're worried about; but I wear my '520 every day, in every way. I've seen clients wearing their RO's in the same fashion. If you're worried about both being too versatile, them's the brakes.

The RO is still essentially a sports watch so can be worn casually with jeans or even sweat pants.

I wear my 15202 with basically anything - a full suit and tie to sweats, t-shirts, tank tops, shorts and flip-flops. It's dressier than the 15400, but still looks great with anything. I also wouldn't hesitate wearing the 116520 with anything either.

x2 I'll probably be torn to pieces for this - There isn't anything utilitarian about a 15400. The elegant dial, flashy facetted bracelet and first rate finishing don't really strike me as sports watch characteristics. At least the Patek 5711 has a utilitarian looking dial and probably won't attract as much marinelife with the desire to remove your hand. Not bashing either watch just some observations. Back on topic I'd only wear it with a shirt.

It should work very well with jeans or with a suit. Go for it!

I've had the SS Daytona and the 15400, both look great with the attire you're describing.

I have a white dial 26331, that looks awesome with casual wear. I've no doubt a 15400 would as well.

Of course it can coexist and would make a great pair. RO great dressed up or down and hard to beat it IMHO.

The 15400 is my go-to daily wearer. I use t-shirts about 2/3 of the year, so you definitely will be fine using it casual! It’s a lot bigger on the wrist than the Daytona too.

Can a Royal Oak & Daytona work together?
I've owned both the 116520 and the 15400 both at the same time. They so quite well together. Dress them up or down they fit in either situation. You just have to be ready for bling and shine as both of these models are not lacking in polished SS.

As my RG went with most casual attire, I think the SS is even more capable of completing any ensemble. It is really just a state of mind, if you feel you can wear it, then you can, and generally I think watches are such a small part of your overall look and entirely invisible to most, that you can make anything work really.
