if they were to make a white dialed Explorer I, I'd prefer they make the surrounds on the indices black and keep the lume white, ala 2165760 Polar.
Black lume sucks and would fly counter to the Explorer's practical purpose. |

This. And a date with a cyclops would ruin the simple beauty of the Explorer, in my opinion.

Agree with this. I'd love to see a white dialled explorer just not like the one above.

A date and/or that white face would be fantastic for the value of my 214270 mk2.

The white dial version looks pretty cool, but I think the ExpI will remain in its current state for the next few years.

I hope they don't add a date function. That's what makes the explorer an explorer - just a no nonsense, no complication, rugged watch

I like the image in the OP myself (but not sure I would take it over my black dial).
also... Date = Not an Explorer That will never ever happen, nor should it. |

I doubt they'd change it, but I kind of like the look. I'd like to see it in person.

I don't think Rolex will make a white dial Explorer I, much less one with date.

No. I think Rolex has enough sense to not make something like, or add a date.
My hope (I know, in vain) is a 36mm Explorer with a matte dial. Oh baby... |

I don't think they are going to change the Explorer any more than they already have. Other than case sizing, the Explorer remains one of the least changed models since its inception. I think that's perfectly fine considering those that buy the Explorer typically do so for it's timeless design and almost "prototype" design. It's basically the base professional model. I think part of that charm is that you can only get it in a black dial and in steel.

Instant Buy
For me if the dial was cream and the whole thing was in 36mm white gold.

Never much of a fan for white dial.. well, except for 16570. If it's anything like that pic in OP then it's an easy pass for me.

Pretty sure Rolex isn't Hublot. So I doubt this will happen.
