I agree with you on this but how would they get him a replacement in a timely fashion if this watch is already tough to find. Might have been waiting even longer. But the squeaky wheel usually gets the grease so maybe they could expedite it

You're braver than me to get it fixed straight out of the gate and then trust it is in brand new condition. I also hope you took pictures of it, as since its brand new I would be shocked if it didn't come back with some new scratches from the service.

I have two YMs, a PL and new rhodium. When I bought my blnr I was shocked by how stiff the crown was. I think it’s that the movements are just different. My 18yr old PL YM and my one month old Rhodium YM (2235 and 2236) feel almost the same. Sound the same when winding. My 9month old blnr is much stiffer to unscrew and the winding of the 3186 sounds completely different. More like a sandy gear than the papery sound of the 2235 and 2236.
It could be your watch has a problem but the different movements feel and sound different from one another. |

I got an oysterflex Daytona last nov. Less than a month later it stopped running and I brought it back to AD. It’s been over 3 months and still haven’t gotten my watch back.

Sorry to hear about this, I would have just returned the watch and got my money back if that was a possibility. I trust and don't mind RSC working on my watch after 5 years of wear and tear on it, but a 5 day old watch, I wouldn't want it repaired. But that is just me.

UPDATE:
I received my Sky Dweller back from RSC Dallas for about a week now. Everything is perfect. Accuracy is +1 second / day. |

Really, of a new Sky Dweller? Maybe yours has a boatload of them in the back room.

Great news!
I've been following this thread to see what Dallas RSC comes through with. Starting the research for where to send my first when the time comes. Absolutely stunning piece. Enjoy

I'm not certain how quickly ADs can gain access to replacement SkyDs? They might have had to pull it from Geneva. Again not sure what the SkyD output is really like.

Yeah after sending to RSC make sure you check everything including scratches to the dial/indices and hands. Dust under the crystal etc.....this is from personal experience.
I hate sending stuff to RSC to fix. There is always a chance of things not being 100% right once u get it back - then you have to send it in again. :( |

I must say mine is a bit stiff too, definitely different from the manual winding feel of my yachtmaster, Sd40 and PM Daytona. Hmmm
