Is this a real 5508 dial ?

I am looking at this 5508 dial and it seems unlike the usual dial found in the typical 5508, it has the rounded rolex sign and R and O that are different. I only find this in a double silver writing example and in early GMT. Is this even real?

Dial is junk. Look at the weird jumping 3's on the depth.
Insert is aftermarket too. Pass.

I would take with a grain of salt with what some members call out as junk. Evaluate who the advise is coming from. There have been many many cases over the years to where I was mislead from particular members or so called "experts".. So just consider the source..

For myself, I won't comment on the above piece until some quality high res pics can be posted for review. Not having the watch in person requires very detailed pictures to make an accurate assessment.

Well the answer to that would be...when someone asks for a expert opinion around here, nobody comes out definitively unless someone like myself makes a remark that is ambiguous. I never said the dial was fake, I said it was junk. Exploded plots and all.

Note to the OP, mate, your second set of pictures are no better than the first ones you posted. High res macros would be nice. A clear view of the entire dial, case ref numbers, movement, case back etc. then we can tell you what is original and what isn’t

Thanks mate, but i cant get the dealer to take macro pic when i dont even know how to take good macro pics myself. So my purpose of posting here was to see if anyone can point out any guidancs or direction so that i could do my own research and discuss with the dealer. I am reallly not counting on these so called experts calling out junk without any explaination. Thanks

Try to understand that on a daily, people come on to TRF posting very lousy pictures of watches asking for authentication, so it gets repetitive for many of us. How can we comment on details we cannot see? When I inspect a watch in person, I'm using a 10x and 20x loupe. That is the kind of magnification we need in real life or in pictures.

My recommendation is to pass on this piece. If you cannot get any quality pictures then you have to walk away. It's not worth the risk. With vintage, all the value is in the details and with fakers getting better and better, it's getting harder for collectors to tell this day in age.

You came here to seek advise, but you're not going to get much unless you can post some very detailed pics. Otherwise we would be guessing.

Just from looking at the pics, I can tell the hands have been relumed. The insert is a flat 4 but in the style I have seen on tudors.

So you have to wonder, if someone went through the trouble to relume the hands, what else has been done? but I cannot comment further than that. I would like to believe that we are looking at a beautiful exclamation point gilt dial, but I cannot be sure from the quality of the pics if its refinished or relumed or original...
