Stickered or naked?
I've read about people keeping their stickers (especially the old green hologram type) on the back of their Rolex watches to act as some type of odometer. If the sticker looks new, then the watch must be hardly worn, right? Not if he remove the sticker, wore the watch for 5 years and then put the sticker back on the caseback when it comes time to flip.
So, speak up, are you wearing a Rolex with the sticker still on the caseback? If so, why? |

When they used to come with the hologram I always pulled them off as soon as I got home. When you take them off they get pretty messed up so there is no way to put it back on and have it look decent. My AD always said to take it off so no water gets trapped behind it causing pitting of the steal, I have since heard this from numerous people. The stickers are supposed to be removed right after purchase, I never could understand why some people leave them on. Seriously, why would you want to feel plastic against your wrist when you can feel the cool steel?

I took the hologram off my Explorer yesterday, It was very interesting. I thought it was just a sticker but after removing the top layer of plastic, to remove the rest was more like a scratch and win lotto ticket.

I've never removed mine. Oh, the one on my sub actually fell off by itself due to daily wear... you know the elements... water, perspiration, etc..

Leaving the stickers on reminds me of the folks who have their sofas wrapped in plastic or wrape their remote controls in plastic wrap. I guess when the day comes that you remove the plastic, you get that euphoria of a new Rolex again, albeit to a lesser extent. Now the guys with stables of Rollies, I don't know why they'd leave their stickers on.

Gotta take off the stickers. Do you leave the tags on your clothes?

It was a b***h trying to remove all the stickers from my SDDS. In retrospect, I wish I had kept some on. There were in unobtrusive surfaces of the watch and I think it would have kept it scratch free longer.

Nude is the only way to go...I take everything off as soon as I can, even the green sticker (back in the days when Rolex still had this).

I let my holograms die a natural death.
Platty's is off... While Subby's is still surviving...

Mine are off. I don't mind the back case gets a little scratches on it. it can be buffed out if I want to and it's the back side that I dont' see often anyway.

All of mine are off, I do not like the feel of the watch with the plastic on.

I yank off all the stickers I can find. Yesterday, while wearing my GMT IIc, the inside of the clasp felt a little funny. It was another sticker! I decided to leave it on there till it starts to come loose on its own, then I'll yank the bugger off. |
