What do you think?

Hi all,

I am supposed to get a Pepsi in SS for Xmas from my AD, so will get it for retail, but I really have a pretty strong itch for a new watch, and I stumbled upon this photo of the Daytona in WG which I find quite stunning, the 115519LN it seems, black dial with diamonds, I know I always was against diamonds but here they look sharp. There is also the same with grey dial.
What do you guys think about this watch?
Do you prefer the black or grey dial?
Knowing that I have the AP ceramic diver, Patek 5711, 5712 and 5167R, and also a Voutilainen, and that I am getting clearly the Pepsi which I love, do you think I should get the Daytona and do you think I will love it or get bored after a few months?
Or should I just wait for the Pepsi which I really love and will wear as I find it amazing, I even started to love the Jubilee which wasn’t the case at the beginning, knowing that I am getting the orange strap for my AP diver which might make it easier to wait for the Pepsi?
Thanks for your thoughts.

I would wait for the Pepsi if you are getting the itch for the PM. Get the Pepsi and wear it to see if you really do like it. With the BLRO market at its peak, you could easily flip it and fund a PM Daytona (which are pretty readily available) if it still interests you.

And +1 on what Tyler said: Get the grey dial if you go that route.

I personally think you should do what you want or like and not worry about others opinions. How would I know if you would love something or her bored with something. I never liked the DJ till I stumbled across a DJ2 41mm and it was my own desire and opinion that I followed and now a used DJ2 get all the wrist time over a bnib BNLR and YM rhodium dial that both came in weeks prior to the DJ

Do you !

Pretty sure I will like the Pepsi, always liked them and almost got the metal bezel at one point, plus I don’t have any more Rolex after having had 4 at one point, so I need one in the collection and the SS Pepsi seems the one to fill that spot, what I am afraid with the Daytona in WG is that it’s just some impulsive buying because I have a new watch itch, and if I get bored of it and want to sell it I should loose a few k...

Anyways thanks on your thoughts

It must suck to not give enough wrist time to your PPs. Do you really need this?

The steel panda dial...not even close (IMO).

The way that dial looks in real life can't even begun to be captured in photos, and i've seen some good pics.

All good, just looks like adding 'fillers' to a great collection.

Again you are right, it does look like that, I do have an itch for a new watch but it's just that a filler to my collection/need of a new watch, will definitely get the Pepsi in SS as I always loved it and my collection is missing a beater watch with which to go to the beach/pool/sports, but I probably wouldn't wear a lot the Daytona in WG and would sell it after a year for profit, I was feeling it was the case but needed to have someone tell me, thanks

I'm going past this phase myself. I realized that I am itching for 'fillers'. Yes, sorry, to Daytona owners, but when you have a collection like you have (OP), any Rolex is a filler.

This is why I got rid of my Hulk and opted out of a Daytona 500 C. I'm happy with my new PP additions, and having a better more compact collection.

In my case I'm considering the new 5711 white 'my beater'. Yes, I know its not a real beater. But hey, it can handle my 'beater' situations. Pool, beach, travel, etc.

Hell, my aquanaut could do that job too :D but I want the PP trio.

Yes you are totally right, I still want to get the Pepsi as I always loved the model, and find it great for a beater and in situations where you need a little bling, yes I know funny to say that compared to the others, but they are very under the radar, so my Pepsi will clearly be the most clingy of my watches, even if it will be the most affordable.
I totally understand you, when I got my first Patek, a 5712, I had 4 Rolex and 3 Pams, 6 months after I decided to sell as I was not wearing them at all, at that point had also the PP 5726 on strap, anyways as much as I want the Pepsi, and will definitely wear it in pool/beach/sport situations, getting another Rolex is stupid, except on the situations I mentioned I will always prefer wearing one of my PP or AP than a Rolex.

I like the steel panda dial myself more.....but as comfortable as the oysterflex is, I just really prefer the bracelet. So voted with the 116509 with the same dial. Go with what makes you happy Patek or not Patek heh.

Yes that is what I am going to do, like was said before it would probably be a filler and I probably wouldn't even wear it after 4 months, it's stupid, if at least it could be used as a beater, to wait until the Pepsi arrives but no, not the beater type
