Daytona and AD

Stop by an AD to check on another watch so since i was there, i asked about Daytona Ceramic. He smiles and whisper that they actually have it but only able to give it to customer who hit a $70k-$80k spending mark. Well...i'm not there yet

Ridiculous! If/when you reached that mark, then the threshold will become $90k-$100k.

I've heard that kind of bs before. Sales manager saying just buy a couple more things and he can get it for me. Joke.

Then you should say, "Ok, I want to get to that mark today, I would take a Sub-Date, Sub-LV, a BLNR, SS, BLRO, a Blue Sky-D, a D-blue, and SD43. And then I will take Daytona in the safe"

No other way around if you want to get it at MSRP. I am sure each of us did so just does not want to recognise it.

I thought I would never say this, but I would be inclined to look him right in the eye and say; "Ok, I will buy a grey market one then". Those would be my last words to that AD.

ps: The day an AD tells me that I think I will seriously send a letter to Rolex expressing my sorrow and dismay that the average Rolex consumer is not able to purchase their product because of this particular AD's(named in letter) restriction.

See this watch, it costs more than your car, now applies to a 911 not a Hyundai.

Well, with my (now former) AD, spending money on SS pieces (even say, $100K) got you nowhere in your books on the list for the Daytona, since they could "easily sell them to the next person in line". You had to be buying TT or PM pieces to actually be "developing a relationship" with them.

Seems to me it less expensive to pay a few thousand above MSRP on the grey market than pay 20 to 30k on watches/jewelry wto appease an AD
