During the dinner everyone was waiting for 07, anticipating it was going to be the star of the night... it was LOL but 10 was my second place or maybe 04 was hahahaha.

Not entirely surprising that '03 and '06 might be on a decline. Not the most highly regarded vintages in Napa.

IMO, usually the top labels still find a way of producing quality juice even in vintages that are considered sub-par as a whole for the region.

07s (for me) across the board are definitely not as vibrant as they once were and that’s for sure. They are definitely on the downturn now. You are very right about the 04 -

Celebrating my 40th

Just turned 40 -- figured it was appropriate to have some juice that was as old and wrinkled as I am...

A little aged new York steak and this for dinner, aired out over the course of the last 6 hours, tasting intermittently in-between, can't wait until it gets a little older.

Still drinking fine. Think it has at least 10 more years. I also have 1 bottle of 04 left. Saving that for another time.

More than most Cali-cabs, mayacamus and Dunn to BTW, is a real age worthy wine, it just thrives off of age!

Thank you for letting me know. I bought several to put away, I just wanted a benchmark tasting to get a feel of what I possibly have to look forward to. Really good stuff there.

Agh yes, I purposely chased down some Andy Erickson wines on my last few shipments. Have a second flight waiting for me in a few years in the cooler too although it was the year he left for Mayacamas. Thinking about diving into a bottle of Tusk in the future as everything I've had made by Philippe Melka has been jaw dropping so far....well not really thinking, just waiting until I can find a reliable source.

OMG, I remember that post now, how funny as I've been looking at a few bottles of the Favia you posted there as well. Got a bottle budget though so have to keep to around $900 a month or so to stay out of trouble with the wife. My Hundred Acre allocation by itself already put me into hot water for quite a while.
