Rolex Sky-Dweller coronet logo doesn't line up

Hi Guys,

After reading a thread on this forum, I was under the impression that Rolex has patented the screw on the Sky-Dweller so that the coronet logo on the crown would always point upwards in the tightened position.

However after purchasing my new SD today I've noticed the crown is pointing downwards when fully tightened. I've also noticed this is the case with a few of the Sky Dwellers on Watch Finder.

Please can someone shed some light on this?

Mine is a 2018 Sky Dweller Two Tone (gold/steel).

Thanks in advance.

It’s a rare Australian market version.

Congrats!

Thanks! So what does this mean? So some of the other watches on watchfinder are from Australia also?

I believe only the all-gold Sky-D crowns line up, not the SS or two-tone models.

Your one is the Twin Tone that is why.

You need to buy the full precious metal versions for the patent to be applied. Been discussed many times.

Unscrew your crown until it lines up the way you want it to. An easy solution!

With today's many alignment point syndromes perhaps Rolex should do all these guys a favour get rid of the crown emblem then everyone's crown would line up somewhere.

Only the full Gold models have this beautifully engineered feat and are always aligned.

I have two Sky-Dwellers, one YG and the other SS, and I have never even looked at the crown to see if it lines up. In the end it does not matter to me and I can line it up if I choose.

Because we're too lazy to read through all the replies? I think that's it.

Has this been confirmed? My SS nearly always aligns, but over torque can result in misalignment.
