Which Titanium diver?

Both great but I prefer the fit, clasp, hands and overall aesthetics of the Pelagos.
Probably picking one up this summer so I'm a bit biased. Have owned a PO a couple of times in the past and was very happy with them.

Tudor Pelagos Blue blew me away on the wrist. Such a nice watch. Would pick that over Omega.

I have a black 1st gen PO chrono xl on leather and a blue Pelagos.
if I had to pick? hmmmm. Your choices are even harder than if I had to pick from my 2.
Between my PO and Pelagos, I'd say it would be The PO for me since its a dressier option, and I have the bluesy now.

But.... based on your choices, I'd say the Tudor. I definitely like the history and story of Tudor. Its always fun explaining to people about the brand.

The pelagos wears so casual vs my PO and the clasp is amazing. sometimes better than a glidelock maybe. At the price difference you mention, it def is a tough decision. The PO was much more expensive when new.

If you were just comparing the SMP, I'd say Pelagos for sure, but the PO is very nice as well. I don't hate the He valve on the PO, but can see why some don't like it. Also, the blue on the PO is much more understated, so that might be a plus or minus depending on what your looking for.

Can you try both on and see how they fit you?

I have both the 8500 and 9300 Titanium Planet Oceans. Love the 8500 and the 9300 is a bit big but fantastic, light weight and very scratch resistant.

Highly recommend both.

Generally, I'd consider the PO the finer watch, but that generation does not have any adjustability in the clasp. Sizing is down to half links in the bracelet. When I owned a PO, I could not size the thing right to save my life - it was either too tight, or too loose. The latest-gen POs have Omega's excellent micro-adjustable clasp, but that's not the one you're considering. The Pelagos wins on that front.

Also, that PO's movement is not the full antimagnetic version, just FYI. Still, in terms of overall finishing and design, I prefer the PO.

Very easy to swap the adjustable clasp to the PO and can be had for well below retail even being out of production.

I like both, but like the Omega better. I like the black pay better than the Pelagos. That might change things for me. But out of those two, I think the Omega.

I've owned a Pelagos blue and it was hands down the most comfortable diver I've ever worn, but I love the look and feel of my PO Deep Black- the lume and dial readability most of all, so another 45.5mm PO is very attractive to me.

Novel and refreshing. $200 for titanium is still reasonable at this brand level. Replacement cost for a Glidelock is something around $1300.

Good luck with your choice. You can't really go wrong either way, but that PO is a nice piece - all the nicer with a clasp upgrade.

I also have the 42mm PO titanium 600 in blue, I just wore it today in fact. I purchased it new about two months ago on closeout because Omega discontinued the model. I picked mine up for $4,500 NIB before tax.

I ordered the adjustable clasp from the Omega boutique. They would not put it on for me, but were helpful in getting the correct clasp. They ordered in two different versions and I purchased the one I wanted. I purchased the titanium which was $270, while the SS one was only $90. They both fit, but the titanium obviously matches better.

It was such a difference to dealing with Rolex and a breath of fresh of air. I recommend the PO 600. Like someone else mentioned, it is much dressier and less tool watch, but that just means it wears well for more occasions.

I have owned both. The Pelagos has become a permanent occupant In my stable, And I prefer it by a long shot to the Seamaster. I would add the Omega was very annoying to wear, not so much the size but the thickness. It was just an awkward uncomfortable piece.

I don't own the Omega you are considering but do own Pelagos in blue and omega SMP300m and a broad arrow. The omega is by far the more bling/dressy watch. The Pelagos is just such a tool watch with the great clasp. First time I saw the blue in the flesh, I just had to have one.

So, the question is, do you need a tool watch or something that can say work with a suit too?

Having owned both the pelagos is much less refined in finish and detail, with very sharp edges. Also the pelagos pinches arm hair like a biatch! Really no comparison between the two, the pelagos is a toy by comparison to the po.

I like the new bond omega. Not normally a fan of gimmick watches. I just think they did a nice job with it. It’s thin, light and has a lot of character.

I don't believe the Pelagos's case is Titanium, but stainless. Their web descript is a little vague on the subject: "Case: 42 mm titanium and steel case with satin finish". In another descript Tudor said something along the lines of "Case: steel with titanium elements"

Bezel, crown and bracelet are Ti though.

Personally i'm queer for the blue of the Pelagos and it does have crown guards which was a strong consideration for me. Bracelet is super, self adjusting once you set the mechanism near your wrist's size.

In the minority here. Greatly prefer the Pelagos Blue. One of the few divers I would buy. Fantastic diver with perfect legibility and better proportions. Omega is too thick and I can't get used to turn-knob helium escape valve. The new ones are worse, now shaped like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Unfortunately, once that was pointed out to me, I can't unsee it. Making me hungry just thinking about it.

I own a Blue Pelagos and PO XL 2500.

The PO in my experience is a dressier more refined watch. The Pelagos is 100% tool watch and something I wear in more casual, beach, summer settings.

I’ve owned my PO for over 10 years, it is keeping amazing time, still looks great. I’ve owned the Pelagos for over 2 years and it has been an amazing part of my collection. Head to head, I lean towards the Omega.

it’s a fabulous watch, extraordinary clasp, brilliant legibility.

it also comes with a beefy dive strap including extension strap.

for $4500.
