1st rolex: sub no data VS sub no data PVD
Hi,
first of all greetins from Italy! I'm new forum member, near to 30yrs old and would like to have an advice about which rolex to buy (my first!) to wear all days (office). I like very much sub 14060 no data (classic choose) but i like a lot the same or older model PVD/PECVD (opaque). My first idea would be "get the pvd" but i wouldn't get wrong and get bored after few months. thanks! |

First of all, welcome to the Forums.
That first watch is a PVD Sea Dweller, after market. Rolex will not honor the warranty. I personally love it but a lot of people hate. Keep in mind that I don't love it enough to actually buy it. It's way over priced. For its price, you can get a Sub ND, Sea Dweller and a nice GMT II. I would personally stay away from it. I recently chose the sea dweller, but that's only because I don't like the cyclops on the sub date and would prefer having a date option. Mind you the Sub 14060 is a tru classic. Either way, you can't go wrong with a Rolex! Just stay away from the Pro. Ciao :) |

Thanks for pointing me out about Sea Dweller.
Apart from the price (i agree with you, pro hunter is very overpriced) if you could buy a 14060 PVD coat at about the same price as original one, what would you choose? |

I think the PVD looks pretty cool in that configuration if you can get it without the writing on the dial.
ONLY thing is I would want it as a fun watch, not one to wear all the time. I can't help but to think if that case takes a few hard hits that the stainless would show through. GT |

The pvd coat really ruin the image and looks of the Sea Dweller. Sub no date is what you should choose.

The PVD look is really unique, but with it VOIDING the warranty, it's not worth it. Go for the Sub or and SD and simply enjoy it's factory-fresh beauty!
Be sure to post photos once you've made your purchase! |

I would buy a PVD sub no date if it costs the same, but only if I already had a regular sub no date, a gmt ii pepsi, a ceramic gmt, a deep sea, an lv, a gv and a few panerais and omegas. Then, I would definately buy a pvd sub.

In this evaluation i don't care about warranty, case, box, etc. just about the watch itself and i like/hate as is, it will be my favourite watch!
