They told me it'd be a 2-3 year wait...A Tale of Hope

I noticed yesterday quite a few people received "the call" for some unicorns.

Just wanted to let people know I'm in a similar boat. I had a huge milestone approaching that I wanted to commemorate with a Rolex for the memory as well as sentimental reasons.

My late grandfather always wanted a Rolex, and while I don't think he lacked the funds for one, he never got around to making the purchase.

He was quite an inspiration to me, and one of my best friends: a hard working WWII vet and retired police officer.

Yesterday, 3 months after I inquired at an AD about obtaining a particular model and was told it'd probably be a 2-3 year wait (mind you I had no prior purchase history), I received the email! My watch was in!!!

Today, I reached the goal. 3,233 days ago, I left the comfort of my family and my home state to start a private practice from scratch. I burned the boats and did not look back. Failure was not an option. I had a wife, a 16 month old, and the Saturday before we opened, the business loan was spent, the credit cards were maxed, and we had $97 in our checking account.

It's amazing what can be accomplished in less than a decade.

Today, the final business loan has been paid in full...early!

Tomorrow . . .Some Pictures

Awesome for you and your family. Great story and the Greeks were onto something when they burned their boats before they went into battle

Not sure what to say except congrats on your perserveirence which certainly seems to have paid off. Your grandpa sounds like a great role model as well. Glad your new piece is coming in short order, will be waiting for pics.

Very touching. I love these tales of success and striving for ones goals. Being a Rolex fan is the final caveat
