UK Insurance

Hi

Does anyone know of a good insurer that will cover 2 x Rolex watches valued at around £10k and £14k within their buildings and contents insurance (along with a £26k diamond engagement ring)?

I’m with Hiscox. Unlimited contents; lots of watches and jewellery; stuff not required to be itemised up to an individual limit of £15k; no stipulation requiring a safe; covered in and out of the home and the country; slightly dodgy postcode. Circa £800.

Tbh in my experience a great deal depends on the total value of the contents you need covering.

Most home contents policies will cover up the £75k but the engagement ring value will be a stumbling block. £15k per item limit seems to be the norm.

I’m with Hiscox as they are the only ones who will cover my PT DD40 on all risks, in and out the home. And as a previous poster has said, you merely have to specify anything over £15k and no valuation required.

If you don’t get any joy try a specialist broker.

A specialist broker will be able to cover the ring and both watches, you will even have options to insure for grey market prices if they are pieces that can’t be replaced easily - premiums will of course depend on what risks they are covering and the sums insured.

I use LV - no issues and decent premiums
