Stardust on dial of modern 5-digit Air King?

Hi all,

There are micro-speckles scattered randomly on the black sunburst dial of my 2001 14000M. I used to think it was dust against the dark dial. But under a loupe, they look like pitting on the lacquer.

Anyone else seen this on a modern non-tritium Rolex dial?

Thanks!
