Question for the forum.

Anyone here ever hear about someone buying a used Rolex with full box and papers from someone else who wasn't the original owner and the watch turned up stolen?

If I can get the serial number, can I call Rolex and verify the watch is clean?

Reason I ask is, I'm on the verge of making my very first used purchase. I've always EVER bought new. SO, I have some concerns and asking for some tips.

The guy I'm thinking of buying from is not the original owner. The warrantee card is filled out under a different name and the watch was purchased new 1 year ago.
