My unexpected Sub story

Hey guys! Cool story from yesterday :) I'm new to Rolex having traded a Speedmaster for an OP36 in December. I ended finding it a bit too small and one dimensional (still really liked it though) and decided I'd try to hunt down an Explorer 1. I have no purchase history with any AD, so I found it was difficult to even be put on a waitlist (COVID probably didn't help). I finally decided that sports models might be out of reach for now and would be just as happy with a Datejust.

So went in to a local AD yesterday to place an order for a specific configuration, and as I was about to.finish the order,.I asked what they had pre-owned. They showed me a 2006 Sub, but I'm reallllllly fond of modern Rolex bracelets so decided to pass. The sales associate paused and asked me to wait as he wanted to check something. He came back with a minty 2017 Sub C 116610 and said he had really enjoyed our chat throughout and saw that I was buying a watch to wear the hell out of and offered it to me. So instead of leaving with an order form, I left with this beauty, B&P and all that good stuff! So unexpected and absolutely over the moon!!!

Cheers!
