Hello from Wales

Hi All,
Just a quick hello from Wales.
Although I do not own a Rolex (yet) my mother in law does. Although it is only a cocktail style precision watch it holds huge sentimental value as it was purchased for her as an engagement present back in 1960. Unfortunately, it stopped working sometime ago but I would like to get it fixed for her if someone can please point me in the right direction. Also, I would like to date the watch but other than knowing it is gold the other assay marks appear a little unclear. Would the serial number alone on this watch indicate the manufacturer date? Any help would be greatly appreciated and apologies if this post has turned into a request rather than an introduction. Many thanks.
