Malfunction while advancing date!
Hello all,
Here is my dilemma. I purchased a Datejust model 116233 in December and this is the first time I needed to advance the date, although I did play with the date advancement feature (quick set) when I first purchased it and it worked fine. This time, when I pull out the crown to the second position and try to advance the date, nothing happens. I've read the instructions carefully and sure I'm doing everything properly ...... nothing happens! I needed to turn the hour hand in order to get the date to advance. So here is my question. I rather not travel an hour and a half to the AD where I purchased the watch to have it fixed, it's much more convenient for me to go to an AD nearby at a local mall .... where I original shopped the watch but their discount did not cut it. Can I bring it there even though I didn't purchase it through them and do you think they would be less then accommodating? Next question ..... When bringing in a watch for servicing under warrantee, should I bring it in with all the original packaging? Do I need to bring the receipt from the AD I purchased it from? Third question .... How long can I expect to wait for its return? Last question ..... Advancing the date by moving the hour hand wasn't a big deal, do you think I should just live with it? The thought of separating with it kills me ..... it's my daily watch! Thanks! |
