Questions on TT Blue Submariner

Ok I did search but the issue is I'm really not sure what to look for. I am just trying to find out all of the information about my watch that I can. I have all paperwork and everything with the watch. It is a Blue two tone Submariner with date. It was purchased in Iowa in late 1987 new. I keep trying to find out year specific information but for some reason it looks like 1987 to 88 was some sort of a model change year for these watches. I keep running into information on the matte black models but really unsure about any of the information on this watch. I know in the big scheme of things it really doesn't matter...but I have this information problem like I am assuming most of you do...in that I just need to know everything that I can about what I have. Sooooo...any help getting me started is much appreciated!!!
