FS: Very Rare Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Ref. 1530
This is a very rare example of Rolex’s earliest attempt at an automatic watch with a sapphire crystal, the all stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Ref. 1530 with the integrated 96660 steel bracelet.
One of the world’s leading Rolex experts has told me, “The 1530 was only ever made with a sapphire crystal, in fact it is the only watch that Rolex ever made which uses both a 15XX movement and a sapphire crystal.” The crystal is mint, and the dial shows minor signs of age around the 5 and 55 minute markers. The serial number, 4,05x,xxx, dates the watch to early 1974 . . . Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified The COSC chronometer-rated 26 jewel Rolex Calibre 1570 automatic movement has just been inspected & regulated, and the watch has been pressure tested by my authorised Rolex dealer, Palmer’s Jewellers in KoKoMo, Indiana. The result is a watch with a clean bill of health, in excellent over-all condition, and keeping superb time. Research shows that as few as 500 or as many as 1500 of these watches were produced before the case design was assigned exclusively to the Datejust Oysterquartz range. $6999 plus actual carriage. Preferred forms of payment include a personal cheque, cashier's cheque, wire transfer, or money order. PayPal, 3% is not an option on this watch. Please contact me through the board's PM or e-mail system. Postage costs will be determined by the service desired, and the delivery address or region. |
