My trip to Boston
Was in Boston with my family to run the marathon.
I was very excited for several reasons: i would be running my 10th marathon, my wife had also qualified, took our kids with us and would pick up a 5513 Gilt I had bought from Jacek. I was already back in the Hotel, when I heard the news. My wife would meet me back there. Called my kids, and Thanks God they were safe, far from the finish line. Immediately checked the marathon website, and was relieved to know that she had finished in 3 53, before the bombs went off. Then the agony started. 30, 60, 90 minutes and no news from her. We were on the street waiting for her, when she finally got back after 2 hours. She was 200 yards away from the bombs, collecting the medal and tefreshing, when it all happened. She got trampled after people started running away. Thanks God she only got minor bruises, nothing compared to the losses and pain other families are going through. Now I realize how insignificant it is to finish a marathon or get a new Rolex. We are just thankful to be alive and healthy. Our prayers are with those gone and their families. I am back in my country and still can not understand how two young guys, who should be thankful to be in a free country, which embraced them, could cause so much harm to innocent people. Just crazy... I still love running and Rolex, but a situation like this, definitely brings a new perspective to life... Anyway just wanted to share this with you guys. This is the new sub I ve got. |
