The guy had some history with the watch and felt sad parting with it. He thought it over and realized he could get something nice by selling the watch. To be honest it was my first time holding a 16750.

Is it possible to get an RSC to keep the corroded hands, but still perform a standard service? If so, how much damage on the hands has been acceptable?

Take it to the RSC in the Shreve Bldg in SF. They can walk you through it all, and that particular center may be more willing to allow you to keep items.
