Out with the old

Its been a couple of months since this happened so it is not really an incoming per se, but I did mix things up a little bit.

AP family consisted of 15400 (white/silver), 15703 (ss) and 15707 (ceramic). I wanted to add a new piece, but I loved everything I had so my initial thought was to just add rather than replace. But at the same time, when the collection gets up to a bakers dozen, it is probably time to start making some "hard" decisions and consolidating a bit.

So, unfortunately, this had to go:

I will miss it, loved it, but at the same time I had two divers and I did not want to part with the 15707 or the 15400:

So, gone but not forgotten. To help fill the void, I decided to add this:

Few observations about this piece:

-- this is a big watch! I have about 7.75" wrist and this guy still feels really big, bigger than my PAM 190 for example. The biggest driver of the size difference is not the width but the length. I do not have calipers to measure the delta between the lugs, but suffice it to say it wears much larger than the 42mm diver. The Chrono module obviously makes it quite a bit thicker than the diver.

-- while this is a big watch, I find it very comfortable. I think it wears better than the 15703 as the weight is more spread out. I have even forgotten I had it on a few times and slept with it on! So, while it is a very big watch, it is surprisingly comfortable. I find it more comfortable that the SS Diver, but not as comfortable as the ceramic (which is not terribly surprising).

-- the dial is awesome. It is constantly playing tricks with the eye. It really is more grey/silver, yet appears white in photos. The depth is hard to capture in pictures (at least it is for me anyway) but is mesmerizing. I debated which 44mm to get for quite some time, and while I like FC, since I already had a ceramic diver, it seemed slightly redundant for me. Obviously RG is great, but just not my style... yet. So that led me to the SS pseudo panda dial. Love it, not much more to say.

-- the rubber strap is different than the diver strap, but in a good way. Much more pliable out of the box. Not sure why, but the diver strap is more firm if that makes any sense. I prefer this strap.

-- accuracy is perfect, no issues. I have had some fast APs in the day, this one is perfect so far, no issues.

Love it, love the look, and the added ceramic bezel is a plus. I moved recently and wore this watch for the entire process and it came through it with flying colors!
