Good morning guys, is it true that rolex service center will confiscate your old bracelet when you purchase a new one from them?

My dad rose gold daydate with jubelee bracelet has been wearing for 10 years and the bracelet is quite stretch and loose now. he wanted to buy a new bracelet from rsc but was told that he cannot keep the old one as it is against rolex policy.

i know this is true if you are replacing the internal movement parts but does it apply to bracelet also ?
