Looking at the side of a current Daytona (I don't own one, just using images on the 'net), it appears that the crown guards are as thick/maybe thicker than the knurled part of the pushers. So if the knurling on the pushers is showing, shouldn't the crown guards be showing?



Look at the image below...the crown guards seem to be at least as tall, maybe taller than the pusher knurling.



Is this wrong? Can someone with a Daytona show a dead on side view (side with the crown/controls)?



You're right about the crown guards, they do sit higher than the pushers. The only piece higher than the guards from that perspective is the actual crown

So based on that, the teaser with what appears to be dials/pushers on either side of the crown can't be a Daytona. The crown guards on either side of the crown would have to be showing if the pushers are showing.
