What a concept!!!!!
I have a divers... 77..01..07 whatever, the classic turtle that I purchased last summer. I wear it to the gym and anytime I feel it’s not safe/right/want to wear my Rolex. It’s a good watch and I got it at a great price, but it’s not the most attractive timepiece I ever owned (all you Seiko fanatics don’t hate me, I am comparing this to my Rolex!). Still, as a functional and good watch at a good price I doubt it can be beat.
Last night I am surfing the net, looking at Seikos, and WOW! I saw this blue faced version and was in awe. I wonder how it looks in person I thought and decided today, on my way to the gym I would stop by Macy’s, a Seiko dealer and see if they have it. It can NOT be there in the display case can it? I’m sure it’s a waste of time but will stop by for the heck of it. So I did this morning. LOW AND BEHOLD!!!! It must be a miracle, there it was in the display case!!!! The sales lady was very nice (although I have to say not the most knowledgeable, she said if I purchased it I get free battery replacements for life ) and pointed out there was: 25% off weekend sale, a 20% off friends and family sale, and if I wanted to open a Macy’s account an additional 20%. AND, my friend offered me $100 for my old Seiko! Bottom line: I walked in, saw the watch I wanted sitting in a display, and purchased it (for a net cost of about $150 from a $495 MSRP). Rolex could learn a lot from this type of experience Isn’t she a beaut!? |
