Winding My Submariner

I have a watch-winder that I place my Rolex in and suddenly it doesn’t appear to keep it wound. I worked fine in the past but not recently. It’s set at 650 (whatever) bi-directional....... as prescribed.

My Breitling Chronomat sits in the case and doesn’t appear to have any problems keeping wound at 990 / clockwise.

Any clues, since it appears to work fine when I manually wind it ?
