First Rolex - Sub date
Hi all,
Been a long time lurker - I’ve always loved divers watchers and my first mechanical watch was an Omega PO (2500D movement) I purchased new for a great price in 2011 when graduating from university. I’ve always wanted a Sub since that time, but adult life kept getting in the way; getting married, buying a house, having a kid, then another kid..I’ve reached a career milestone recently and so the timing was finally right to be fortunate enough to treat myself to a Sub. I just had to find one! I’d been keeping up to date with the Rolex supply situation and was expecting to have to wait. However I was also prepared to wait to obtain one from an AD, as I was in no rush. More for fun than anything, we visited local ADs in Europe during a local trip with no luck. A little while back had a great chat with a local AD and put an expression of interest in. They shared that they were frustrated with flippers and wanted to see their pieces go to people who were going to keep them / enjoy them, but gave the usual disclaimer that they don’t get SS Subs through very often but it’s completely random. Fast forward to yesterday and I had a missed call from the AD. Called back 2 mins later and was told I had a piece allocated! Went in and picked it up within the hour and am still pinching myself. Looking forward to contributing more as I enjoy my Sub (still feels surreal saying that) and inevitably expand my collection going forwards! Please excuse my poor photo taking - was in a rush and not that good at wrist shots yet! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
