Patek Boxes?

Do specific watch boxes—the large wooden/plastic boxes—come with specific watches, or are they mix and match?

I’ve seen many different watch boxes, but can’t tell if some are “old” or “new”.

For a pre-owned watch, how do you know if your watch came with the correct box?
