Adjusting Oyster Bracelet - Newbie Q

So this made me think after reading another post about someone who bought their first ever fine watch and got the AD to adjust the bracelet with poor results. Ultimately it was fixed however their were some I think some quite wrong comments about why not do it DIY!

So onto my similar situation, I dont have the tools, and I dont want to purchase them either as Im too nervous to do it myself due to being new to this price level of watch,

So now Ive covered my back, my question is will a dealer adjust my watch if it was not purchased from them? Finks is the only authorized AD near me?

What do you think or I guess I can take it to a watch repairer and cross my fingers
