Tip For Building a Great Watch Collection

I came across this video on youtube I thought it was very interesting.

Basically, the guy is arguing that we would almost always "gain" in trading a few watches that we've grown indifferent to/that we barely wear, to get one higher end watch that we will really like (i.e. we should prioritize getting the highest quality watches that we can afford, even it means we should own less watches).

This idea resonated with me, as I recently got through a process like this (see https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=718495)

Just wondering what you guys think.
