New Here from New Jersey
Hey All!
Medium time lurker here and just recently joined. Prior to this forum. and still, I'm very active on other watch forums like Reddit (watchex specifically). I've been a watch admirer/collector for the past 10 years and just recently started looking into Rolex. I joined here to see if I could find something good on the for sale forums and just reading some general this vs that posts to help me with my choice. I was looking for a 5/6 digit sub or a 5 digit SD pretty aggressively for the past month or so and I recently picked up an amazing full kit 16600 Sea Dweller from my local jeweler! It was a bit weird after I picked it up. I got back in my car with it on my wrist and didn't feel the overwhelming joy I thought I would have. Couple days gone by and it's definitely starting to grow on me though and I'm happy with my purchase. It doesn't have prior service history but the jeweler says they check the movement, pressure test, polish etc. I don't want to give it up right away, but it will be going for servicing at some point within a year. Don't have a timegrapher but it seems to be running about 10+ seconds fast a day. Watch itself is in amazing shape but the bracelet could use some love. I've been poking around here a bit and it looks like Michael is the guy to go to, but I would love if someone had a US recommendation. Especially closer to home here in the Northeast. The bracelet has a bit of stretch and really just need to be tightened up a bit. Also the watch has been polished quite a bit from the looks of the Rolex logo on the clasp and I'm wondering if that can be restamped, or refurbished in some way to make the crown prominent again? Anyways, look forward to reading some more here and immersing myself deeper into the world of Rolex as the years come. Cheers! |
