Black OP39 hard-to-find?

Hi all - I've been chatting with a couple of ADs in NYC, and one just quoted me 4 months for a black OP39. This was after I made a 20% deposit. Even for Rolex, I was a bit shocked at the timeline for a reference that I thought was pretty easy-to-get.

I know that we're living in a uniquely crazy world and that even pre-Covid Rolex had supply/demand imbalance. Also aware that I could just "go grey" in the Diamond District and probably pay about the same price if you think about paying their premium instead of sales tax, but I just like the idea of getting from an AD.

Anyways - all of this is to say, is 4 months for a black OP39 as insanely long as it feels? Or is this just the world we live in?
