Question on recourse for minor issue w purchase, help!
sorry I'm not sure where to put this, but I need a little help or advice. I bought a Glashutte O, and I'm very happy w the watch. Its one of the annual editions and its really cool. However, in shipment from seller to me, Fedex sliced the box, and the inner protective packaging wasn't sufficient to protect the Watch Case/Box and the Inner Leather Protective individual GO case. They both have slight damage.
(Of note, this Glashutte O watch has a different setup with the watch box, basically inside where the watch is, there is an individual leather single travel type case. I have a similar one from wolf and it was about $100 and the quality seems similar if not higher w the GO one.) Now, I still want the watch. The watch is undamaged. But I bought this as a full set, with box and papers, and box the box has a huge slice, and the individual case inside that box has a small damage lining up. Obviously the main box it was shipped in also has similar damage that seemingly lines up, as it goes thru all 3 and the minor bubble wrap it had. My question is, what is a reasonable request? I want the watch. I don't want to give the seller a hard time or be an annoying buyer. What is fair? $100 to buy a new inner GO leather case seems ok and then I would just ignore the Box damage but then I'm a little annoyed bc its sliced? I don't want to be unreasonable but I don't want to hurt myself bc I don't know the value or replacement cost or whatever? Refund the shipping? Any help or advice would be appreciated. (If it matters, I spent a little over 5K and paid via PayPal) |
