Does changing the face change watch ?

I'm very close to finally getting a PAM 127 .
The owner said when he got it he sent it in for routine service.
Panerai replaced the face due to a tiny pin sized discoloration on the face.
Would this alter the ''ORIGINALITY '' of the Fiddy for potential future collectors?
Maybe a stupid question but I own a 60' Vette . Alter anything and you change the numbers matching status , thus effecting future value. Thanks guys.
